The only thing I'm missing is connecting my 5 different USB MIDI controllers to iPad via Bluetooth. If I want to save space, I'll use a tiny bank, if I want endless power with more USB ower outlets to also charge the iPad then I'll use a larger power bank.

I've been using the Yamaha UD-BT01 with a small power bank powering the USB to Bluetooth adapter as well as the connected MIDI controller and I would say it's one of the best combinations. I completely agree! External power is a much better idea. So we thought maybe connecting a USB power bank is a better compromised solution. Also the test and certificate of the battery (for shipping) will be additional cost for WIDI users. Then it will be very difficult for the user to find the battery as spare parts from the market. Here is a direct link to the webpage, it’s called the WIDI Uhost: I know from other forums that a lot of players have been wanting to go totally wireless, but I never considered Bluetooth midi a serious possibility due to the latency issues inherent to this technology.ĭisclaimer, I am not in any way affiliated to this company, but I am in contact with the CEO, since he is very open to feedback about suggestions for the implementation of this new design. However there seems to be no information here about this new project, and I find it pretty exciting, because it would enable controllers which connect via USB to connect to Bluetooth equipped devices such as iPads, iPhones and Macs and PCs wirelessly but with only 3ms latency! And they have confirmed that it also handles MPE, which is vital to the new era of midi controllers which are starting to appear. I knew nothing about any of this before coming across Jordan Rudess’s short video which I found on Youtube - the link is in the previous post (pure coincidence). I am going to resurrect this thread, since I have some information about a new project which CME are crowd funding.
